This project aims to create new solutions for a more sustainable textile industry by recycling industrial waste while adhering to the demand for a circular economy. The textile industry is one of the largest and most important industries in the world, but it is also, without doubt, one of the most polluting. The aim of this project is to develop a dye that does not require chemical synthesis but results from sustainable recycling of processing waste. In particular, textile waste that has been previously subjected to dyeing processes will be recycled to produce “recycled dye powder”, with which it will be possible to dye new fabrics. The sustainability of the proposed process is due to the fact that the chemical synthesis of dye is carried out only once to dye twice.
